...'TUIBUK' (ZOGAM WHISKY)

Discussion generated by 'TUIBUK'
Participants:
Dr. Siamkhanthang Neihsial (SKT) and Thianlalmuan Ngaihte (TLM)

SKT: NEHU ah research scholar khat in TUIBUK hah bawl mahmah ve aw...put this way, preserving our culture should start from the intellectual, l guess! haha...Cheer to him
TLM: You are rite and that’s the point Sir Siam. Let the enlightened people come forward to lead at the front. Lets make things better for a change. hmmm
SKT: Sir, Muan, 'lets make things better for a change', i like this line of yours! I assume you certainly do have a stronger meaning to make when you take this example 'TUIBUK'. The way i understand, i donot think that every one shoud take a sip of this 'nicotine water' (namse lo pet mah). I am sure your imagination goes out there for Zogam..! The intensity of the problems and the need to restore the past glory (if any) and build up to the strongest possible stage in terms of social, economic, politifal, law and order, etc. so that our children will be proud of who they are. Very thoughtful!! Nang-leh-kei, tunia Siamsinte liangkou a ki nga lian mahmah ve aw. We will do it!!
TLM: Yap great and thought provoking lines...'tuibuk' pen kha 'it really stinks, really smelling, really bites, taste it and you will know its power-kicking'. Put this way, no matter the good, the bad and the many odd things about our culture...can we simply ignore them? The past makes my present state and it is the present that will determine my future. It is because of my past that i am in my present now. Let us discover and treasure the past but never stop to move ahead for the better.
TLM: 'tuibuk' though it smell horrible, is a part of my culture. But all that is part of me may not always be good for me in the long run. Sometimes, it need to be refined, filtered...! Things move and change so fast and one has to move along with time and in the process has to drop or leave behind things that are of no value...Yet there are some sacred and 'CORE ELEMENTS OR FEATURES' drawn from my past that always define my present state, condition, and my identity as a person (cih dan khawng hiveh aw, mihing identity??????????)
SKT: "Ipiputen, tuibuk kha (bitter) muam uh! eiloi in tuibuk taste chi tuam2 (akhum, a al, a thuk, adg2) khong bolkhe thei le hang tuh amausa changkang jo deuh di chihna ei ve mo? (nuitzathuai hong bang dek sim, let me continue for the sack of discussion) Because we cannot throw away our culture, but we can modify it for our benefit! The past is responsible for the present & the future. If there is a beginning there will be an end! To every action there is equal & opposite reaction (Newton's 3rd law). This is Conservation of Energy & Time. Scientific tak in Tuibuk sui le lunglut huai lo di e!
